Cookies and Creamery, a locally-owned and operated ice cream shop featuring KC’s best treat-makers, is opening their first brick and mortar location at the Red Bridge Shopping Center.
The Lane4 Property Group, 600-SF retail space is located next to Crows Coffee on the north side of the development at 533 E. Red Bridge Rd. in Kansas City, Mo.
Shop owners and married couple, Kiffany Bosserman and Steve Bosserman, are hopeful for a late fall 2020 grand opening.
The Bossermans, who already run an all-natural cotton candy company called Cottontale KC, came up with the Cookies and Creamery concept as a result of the effects of COVID-19. The event and entertainment industry decline created an opportunity for the couple to double-down by adding a second brand to serve KC with a wider range of treats.
“Throughout 2020 we have learned that Cottontale (KC) and Cookies and Creamery desperately needed a home base to serve our fans more consistently,” Kiffany said.
Bossermans’ existing mobile “Treat Trike” is a one-of-a-kind tricycle concessions cart which sells Cottontale’s organic cotton candy as well as hand-made ice cream sandwiches, fresh-baked cookies, gourmet popcorn and hot cocoa. The couple plans to continue to “pedal” the trike with the new Cookies and Creamery family.
Cookies and Creamery at Red Bridge will feature their signature items like Creamwiches: made with local ice cream, fresh-baked cookies and rolled in specialty toppings; as well as hand-crafted, non-dairy Horchata and other menu items from Kiffany’s Mexican heritage.
Since 2017, Cottontale, has been “popping up” at a variety of local events ranging from large corporate parties and boutique grand openings, to intimate family gatherings. With flavors ranging from maple bacon to pina colada, Cottontale’s unique offerings have made a lasting impression on the Kansas City event industry.
The Bossermans are currently raising their family in the Red Bridge area, so opening their first store front at Red Bridge Shopping Center is quite literally serving their neighbors and community.
Once a former history teacher, social media coordinator, customer service guru, and now entrepreneur, Kiffany credits the success of her new business endeavor to her vast career experience.
“Cookies and Creamery is going to be a place where people can gather safely, celebrate accomplishments and so much more,” Kiffany said. “It’ll be a place where we train the next generation in entrepreneurship skills, share our dreams, cheer you on, and give back to the city who has given us so much.”
Developer and property manager LANE4 Property Group and the Red Bridge Shopping Center ownership group say they are committed to growing the center’s amenities by continuing to enhance the tenant mix and concentrating on providing community-focused programs and events.
