Popular St. Louis brewer Heavy Riff Brewing has chosen JEMA to design its 24,000-SF expansion in its current Clayton, Mo. location as well as for a brand new facility at 4957 Fyler Ave in St. Louis, Mo.
The new, ground-up construction project will become Heavy Riff’s flagship location, comprised of a 16,000-SF brewing, canning and storage area; a 4,000-SF tasting room and restaurant; and a 4,000-SF indoor/outdoor space.
The tasting room will feature a signature restaurant where patrons can enjoy pairings of dishes prepared by a prominent local chef and beers brewed onsite. The indoor/outdoor area will feature 23-ft. high ceilings and appear to float over a rain garden. The facility will offer off-street parking and outdoor dining.
"JEMA's goal was to utilize simple off-the-shelf materials that will provide a unique experience for patrons as well as create an iconic presence for Heavy Riff and its brand," said JEMA architect and project manager, Mike McDaneld.
Heavy Riff’s well-known current location at 6413 Clayton Ave. will remain in operation and will soon feature the new addition of an outdoor pavilion. The Fyler project is estimated to be completed by Q2 2023.
The general contractor/other project partners have not been named at this time.
