Four CRE associations install new officers for 2022

Four of the leading St. Louis commercial real estate associations came together to welcome the new year at a joint installation event at Vue in the first week of January 2022.

Michael V. Roberts, Jr., Esq. (iRealty Firm LLC), the new president of St. Louis REALTORS® Commercial Division (SLRCD), opened the event by presenting an award to outgoing SLRCD president Patrice TenBroek (RE/MAX Results) for her outstanding service to the association.

Roberts also recognized James Delgado, CFM (Facility Solutions), a founding member of the SLRCD board, for being named 2021 Commercial Real Estate of the Year this past November and for bringing him into the association.

Grant Mechlin, CCIM (Sansone Group) stepped up to accept the presidency of the St. Louis chapter of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), who recognized outgoing president Tiffany Wiegers (Ameren) for her leadership in a “difficult year” and thanked her for her work on behalf of the association in 2021.

“We are focused on bringing in new designates and a strong support process this year,” Mechlin said. He noted an upcoming February 8 networking luncheon, March and November CI 101 and 104 classes, and other planned resources, and reminded attendees that scholarships can be applied for at any time.

Mechlin also recognized CCIM St. Louis education chair Jim Rosen (Pace Properties) as “one of the best professors in the country.”

“St. Louis is one of the best CCIM chapters, with a very active board — four of our board members have served for 10 to 15 years, which is unique,” Mechlin said. “On behalf of the entire CCIM board of directors, we are looking forward to another great year in 2022.”

Stacey Kamps (Koch Development Co.), 2022 president of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of St. Louis, recognized Nancy Petersen (Enterprise Bank & Trust) for her leadership as the organization’s outgoing president. Under her leadership, CREW-St. Louis held 77 events in 2021 despite the pandemic, including an annual awards program and the national Global Leadership Summit that attracted several hundred attendees from around the country; launched a Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Committee and Young Leaders Group; and brought in 62 new members. “She had what I call a ‘wow’ year!” Kamps said.

“My goals for 2022 are to continue to focus on membership recruitment and retention, and continue outreach to collegiate members,” Kamps said. CREW-St. Louis plans to update its strategic plan and hold its annual awards event on May 12, as well as a Trivia Night and Golf Tournament on August 1, and a 40th-anniversary event in the fall, along with hosting a CRE 101 course and networking session.

Steve Zuber, SIOR (BARBERMURPHY Group), 2022 president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® (SIOR) of St. Louis, wrapped up the remarks from new association presidents by saying he has been proud to hold the SIOR designation for the past 13 years and that the chapter will present its Metro Market Forecast this year and provides scholarships for its education programs. He gave thanks to Scott Savacool, SIOR, CCIM (Sansone Group) for his leadership as 2020 and 2021 SIOR St. Louis president.

Officers and board members from all four associations came to the stage to be sworn in as officers by Dawn M. Seabaugh, CAE, RCE, CEO and director of commercial services for St. Louis REALTORS.®
