After twelve years in the Town & Country Medical Building, Cregger Family Dentistry has moved into a new, custom-designed suite at 1000 Des Peres Rd. in St. Louis, Mo.
Tenant improvements began on the space, which is located in a medical office building just down the street from St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital, last November. Dr. Aaron Cregger opted to completely renovate the space with the help of ACI Boland Architects and Echelon Constructors.
The new office, which opened this spring, caters to both staff and clients and was inspired by residential spaces, according to ACI. The result is a modern, sleek space that uses elements with lighter tones to create a warm, inviting environment.
“The features that made the biggest impact for me were the cohesiveness of the design and color palettes from the moment you walk in, all the way back to my desk. The flow was evident, even in the flooring and signage, that clearly delineated workspace from common space.” said Dr. Cregger.
From start to finish, Dr. Cregger was involved in the process of establishing layout, finishes and furniture. He considered how his staff would function in the space and what they would appreciate in the final product.
The new break room/meeting area is surrounded by windows, allowing staff to enjoy views to the outdoors, while the furniture provides flexibility to transform the room for any type of meeting space.
“The 'WOW' factor has been the most exciting result, even patients that were disappointed we changed or moved were thrilled with the aesthetic of the new office,” said Dr. Cregger.
Because so many of Dr. Cregger’s clients are children, he wanted a space in the waiting area specifically designed for them. The new lobby space includes a play area, complete with a slide and a wall opening for the children to play while they wait to see the dentist.
Patient privacy was a top consideration in the office layout, which includes ten, separated exam rooms and multiple waiting areas - all proving to be beneficial for patient safety during COVID-19.
“With COVID-19 taking over the world, my new workspace not only makes people feel clean and comfortable, it (also) was thoughtfully designed to give people the appropriate 'social distance' for me to do my job effectively and safely,” Cregger said.
