The Urban Land Institute of Kansas City has selected its newest leader. David Brain, former CEO of EPR Properties and head of development firm Brown Cow Capital LLC, will take over as district council chair for a two-year term, effective July 1. Brain recently co-chaired ULI's Technical Assistance Panel, which studied the potential decommissioning of the Northloop in downtown Kansas City. Brain is on the team redeveloping Westport Middle School.
He takes the reins from Lynn Carlton, regional director of planning at HOK. Under Carlton's leadership, the District Council has grown more than 30 percent from 165 members in July to 220 members today. She also helped implement the Women's Leadership Initiative, Mentorship Program, and Technical Assistance Programs.
ULI is an independent global nonprofit committed to the responsible use of land and the sustainability of thriving communities.
