The developer of the historic Pickwick building in down Kansas City has signed a new tenant.
Gold Crown Properties will welcome UPS’ first downtown store location at East 9 at Pickwick Plaza. The new tenant plans a spring opening at the new mixed-use development.
“The UPS Store is excited to join the business community in downtown Kansas City, and we are especially thrilled to be one of the first tenants in the historical renovation of East 9 at Pickwick Plaza by Gold Crown Properties," said Bob Shulman, the franchise owner of The UPS Store in downtown Kansas City. “They have worked hand-in-hand with us to provide an excellent retail space while still preserving the character of The Pickwick. It's a beautiful historic building, and we're proud to be a part of its rebirth.”
UPS was represented by Jared Frost of Point Commercial.
The tenant joins a number of new inhabitants, including City Gym’s second metro location, and a number of residents who have moved into the newly opened North Tower of the project. The entire mixed-use development consists of apartments, retail, and amenities like an indoor saltwater pool, grocery delivery, custom wine lockers, event space, secured parking, business and conference rooms, and pet services.
“Strategically aligning commercial tenants that add value to our residents is of great importance to the project,” said Bryan Smith, executive vice president of Gold Crown Properties. “We are also the first community in Kansas City to have Zipcar on our project with free membership to our residents. We will host additional transportation features such as electric vehicle charging stations and quick access to the KC Streetcar that will assist downtown residents that promote green living solutions.”
A grand opening is planned for early spring. To take a 360-degree virtual tour, visit East9KC.com.
