Ocean Prime debuts, more tenants on way to 46 Penn Centre

Ocean Prime has opened for business on the third floor of 46 Penn Centre on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza.

The award-winning modern American restaurant and lounge opened on February 8, 2022, and includes an expansive 8,500-SF space with three private dining rooms and a peninsula bar. Ocean Prime offers an extensive menu of seafood, prime steaks, chops, chicken and sushi.

It is the second of two concepts at 46 Penn Centre from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. The first, Prime Social, a lively and dynamic cocktail lounge, opened to rave reviews in late 2021 on 46 Penn Centre’s enclosed panoramic rooftop.

“Kansas City is buzzing with enthusiasm about Ocean Prime and Prime Social, making them must-experience destinations. Our tenants are equally excited to have these dynamic experiences just an elevator ride away. We are honored to see most of our building space occupied, and yet we still have the welcome mat out for a few future tenants. Two additional (not yet announced), multinational insurance tenants have signed leases and will relocate to 46 Penn Centre before the end of the year, according to a release. One will occupy the twelfth floor of 46 Penn Centre in September 2022, with 12,500 SF of space in the Class-A, 14-story building developed by BRES.

The other firm, a Fortune 500 company, will occupy 8,800 SF on 46 Penn Centre’s ninth floor. The pair will join existing tenants CrossFirst Bank, RSM Partners, UBS, Fisher Phillips, Parris Communications, Pulse Design Group, Triad, BRES, CROWN MedRealty Partners and Anthony Knipp Law.

“These new tenants are all best-in-class businesses, and we are honored to welcome them to 46 Penn Centre,” said Kenneth Block.

46 Penn Centre offers state-of-the-art, world-class amenities that all have access to private tenant balconies facing the Plaza. Other notable building amenities include a fitness center, company kitchen, car care center, dry cleaning service and shoeshine service.

The Class-A office building was carefully planned and designed to achieve LEED standards. To assist with improving the indoor air for a better work environment, the building’s HVAC was outfitted with Global Plasma Solutions devices and MERV 13 filtration.
