JE Dunn recently celebrated a milestone in the construction of the civic center at Lenexa City Center. A ceremony on Wednesday celebrated the last structural beam being placed.
By mid-2017, the 200,000-square-foot center will open its doors to the public, offering recreation and civic components including City Hall, an indoor aquatic facility, a fitness center with three gyms, an children's lay area, a public art gallery, an indoor public market, and more. It will also house several city departments as well as a 250-seat forum where City Council meetings will be held. An outdoor civic plaza will host community events, festivals, and farmer's markets.
PGAV is the architect on the project.
