The corner of Linwood Blvd. and McGee St. in Kansas City, Mo. has a brand new look and feel, thanks to a newly constructed Fresh+Karma dispensary designed by h | d Architecture and built by Luke Draily Construction Company.
The 6,000-SF, ground-up-build will be the medical marijuana company’s flagship location, adding a fresh and stylish ambience to the Midtown neighborhood with its state-of-the-art design.
The second largest KC manufacturing facility is also in the works for Fresh+Karma in Riverside, Mo., with plans to open next month (July 2021) - roughly the same timeframe as the Linwood dispensary.
“We have rehabbed spaces for Fresh Karma dispensaries in Parkville, Mo. and St. Joe, Mo. Both have really cool features and a modern feel,” said Bob Becker, Luke Draily Construction president.
The high-end, standalone retail facility is designed with modern features along with unique and custom lighting both inside and out. The structure was designed to be built into an existing hillside but instead of a typical retaining wall, the client decided to go with a smooth concrete wall so that local artists can showcase their talent, according to Greg Highbarger, principal/owner with h|d Architecture.
“I have installed many different siding products over the past 25 years and have not particularly cared for the cement siding products on the market. The Nichiha product has a superior finish look to traditional siding products. This product is much more expensive and requires more skill and time to install but produces a quality, high-end finish. We used three different Nichiha products on the Fresh Karma project and they all look great,” said Keith Calipetro, project superintendent with Luke Draily Construction.
The dispensary marks the third Missouri location for the Kansas City-based parent company, True Level Investments, Inc., as well as the third project to be completed by the h|d Architecture and Luke Draily Construction team.
