SomeraRoad Inc. has hired Colliers International to lease and manage Summit52, a rebranded 26.2-acre office campus located at 5200 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, Kan.
Along with the new name, renovations of the lobby, café, conference facilities, fitness facility and multiple outdoor patios are slated to begin immediately.
Summit52 offers tenants Class A amenities, competitive lease rates, lush green space and exceptional access to all areas of the metro. The project’s flexible floor plates can accommodate users as small as 4,000 SF up to 300,000 SF, offering up to 78,000 SF contiguous on a single floor.
Colliers’ Ross Simpson and RC Jensen are excited to take the lead on the property, formerly known as 5200 Metcalf.
“The building itself has so many unique features that tenants will be excited about,” said Ross.
SomeraRoad has made its mark on the Kansas City real estate market with its acquisitions of 3Y and Lightwell, formerly known as City Center Square. The firm acquired 3Y as a distressed and almost entirely vacant property, renovated it and successfully leased it to 100 percent occupancy.
They took a similar approach with the distressed City Center Square -now Lightwell property -which is wrapping up a $16 million renovation with more than 150,000 SF of new leases to date.
“Summit52 is no longer in default, foreclosure or receivership--it’s ripe for repositioning and has an ideal, accessible location. Our new ownership team is well-capitalized and ready to do deals. We know the Greater Kansas City market well and we are excited to transform Summit52 into a modern workplace destination just like we have done with the 3Y and Lightwell Buildings,” said Basel Bataineh, vice president, SomeraRoad.
