Progress is moving right along on the construction of the seven-story, 192-room AC Hotel St. Louis by Marriott at 215 York Ave. in St. Louis' Central West End.
General contractor, Midas Construction, began construction on the 94,220-SF hotel at the beginning of this year, after the demo of the previous KPLR TV station building in December 2019.
The AC Hotel St. Louis will be the first hospitality project completed in the Central West End in nearly twenty years.
“We’re very excited to be part of this hotel project that will fit nicely into Central West End’s vibrant atmosphere. The AC Hotel offers concept-driven, turn-key customization of guest room and public space design. With flexible open spaces, purposeful design, signature moments and no unwanted extras, guests maximize their stay with style and intention," said Patrick Holleran, vice president of HDA Architects, the architect of the project.
Named as one of America’s top ten neighborhoods by the American Planning Association, the Central West End neighborhood is within walking distance to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Forest Park and over 100 restaurants, bars, retail shops and entertainment venues.
Concord Hospitality and Sam Koplar are the owners of the Marriott Bonvoy select-class hotel, which is on track for a late summer 2021 completion date.
This is HDA’s first AC Hotel by Marriott, with a second one in the planning stages for Columbia, Mo.
