The Tutera Group completes $7.5M Johnson County rehab center

The Tutera Group celebrates the opening of the facility on Thursday. A locally owned senior health care provider has rounded out its portfolio with the completion of a new $7.5 million facility in Johnson County. Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is celebrating the opening of Stratford Commons Rehab & Health Center, a new 34,000-square- foot, single-story community that adjoins the group’s existing Stratford Commons Memory Care Community at 12340 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kan.

In order to promote effective, quick healing and recovery, the new state-of- the-art rehab center will offer the most modern therapy equipment coupled with expert, individualized care.

“We are proud to have created a state-of- the-art, post-acute rehabilitation facility to offer expert care for our residents,” Tutera Group CEO Joe Tutera said. “It has been carefully designed to provide them with specialized therapy that supports their individualized needs to achieve effective recovery to return home quickly.”

The project was designed by Austin-based studioSIX5, and construction began in September 2014. The center features a luxurious resort-like interior with 41 private and 2 couple suites, a rehab gym and restaurant-style dining. Couple suites include large, private bathrooms, a kitchenette, built-in cabinetry, large exterior windows and high ceilings.

To support a “multidimensional approach to healing,” the center also includes: Alter G anti-gravity treadmills that reduce recovery time, as well as specially designed equipment to safely monitor needs of the most physically vulnerable residents to regain strength, functionality and independence.

Restaurant-style dining with fresh, healthy menus created by an in-house chef. Luxurious spa-style amenities and salon services, including massage and yoga therapy, among an ongoing calendar of wellness programming.

Tutera’s portfolio of healthcare and senior living needs now includes rehabilitation and skilled nursing, memory care, independent and assisted living, home health, and hospice care.

Today, Tutera operates 47 senior living communities across 13 states. For more information, visit the group’s website.
