Oddo Development broke ground this week on a $60 million multifamily development, Sonoma Peak, on the southeast corner of I-435 and 87th St. in Lenexa, Kan.
The 338-unit luxury apartment complex will offer an impressive collection of amenities with one and two bedroom floor plans and, for the first time in Oddo’s history, four premier penthouses.
Designed by Klover Architects, Sonoma Peak will provide worry-free living with an array of indoor and outdoor amenities including a cycling studio, fitness Center, Zen garden, saltwater vanishing-edge pool - complete with sun shelf and swim lanes, outdoor grilling area, clubroom, walking trails, lush landscaping with water features and concierge services.
“Our continued investment in Lenexa and the surrounding area is a testament to our belief that despite the economic effects of COVID-19, Johnson County development growth will continue to traject upward,” said Oddo president and CEO, Rick Oddo.
Sonoma Peak will be the sixth multifamily community in the Oddo Development portfolio and will also be a piece of the next phase in the mixed-use neighborhood.
Sonoma Plaza continues to attract national and local restaurant and retail tenants such as Red Door Grill, Culvers and Starbucks.
The leasing pace at its sister property, Sonoma Hill, which opened just last year, has surpassed expectations and revealed a desire from the public for more premium apartment homes and maintenance free living, according to the property management team.
“Our property management teams takes pride in listening and understanding the needs of residents and prospective residents offering inviting, welcoming communities with resort-inspired amenity spaces and friendly professionalism. We look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence in Oddo,” said Jeannette Cox, executive vice president for Oddo and board member for the National Apartment Association.
“We are very proud to welcome yet another Oddo Development community; it speaks volumes when quality developers continue to invest in new projects in the city. Sonoma Peak will provide residents great views of Lenexa City Center to the west, incredible onsite amenities within Sonoma Plaza, and easy access to the metropolitan area via I-435,” said Lenexa Mayor, Mike Boehm.
Sonoma Peak is expected to open winter 2021.
