On Oct. 23, MARSHALLTOWN, a family-owned tool manufacturer, celebrated the groundbreaking of its new 200,000-SF distribution center in Kansas City, Kan. The $27 million investment will expand the company’s logistics operations and create 40 new regional jobs.
“We’re thrilled to take this significant step toward expanding our operations with the start of construction at this prime Kansas City location,” said Jack Murders, COO of MARSHALLTOWN. “This facility represents our continued investment in logistics excellence, enabling us to meet growing demand while providing even better service to our customers.”
Located at the 435 Logistics Center, the new facility will feature advanced robotics and automation to enhance the efficiency of distributing MARSHALLTOWN’s more than 9,000 construction and home improvement tools worldwide. The company, which already operates in Iowa, Arkansas, and Illinois, selected Kansas City for its strategic access to 90% of the contiguous U.S. within two days.
“We are honored to welcome MARSHALLTOWN to our community,” said Greg Kindle, president of Wyandotte Economic Development Council. “Their decision to invest in Kansas City reflects our shared commitment to economic growth and opportunity. We look forward to seeing this state-of-the-art facility come to life and to the many benefits it will bring to our region.”
The project includes construction, planning, and design partners Miller Stauch Construction, Scannell Properties, Olsson, KC SmartPort, Wyandotte EDC, CBRE, and FINKLE + WILLIAMS Architecture.
Completion is expected in 2025, and the facility will become fully operational by the fall.
