After nearly a two-month setback on their opening date, Loews Kansas City Hotel has announced it will now be open to the public on June 1, 2020.
Originally, the $367 million, 800-room hotel was scheduled to open April 2, 2020, but was sidelined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The safety and well-being of our guests, team members and communities remain a top priority," Loews representatives said in a statement released yesterday.
"We want to assure customers, locals and visitors of the continuous efforts we will be making on a daily basis, as well as new measures that have been put in place in order to provide a welcoming and clean environment at Loews Kansas City Hotel."
The hotel includes two restaurants, an indoor lap pool, a lobby bar, a spa and 60,000 SF of meeting and event space, which connects directly via a new bridge to the Kansas City Convention Center.
The rest of Kansas City (Mo.) will be opening up soon as well with Mayor Quinton Lucas' stay-at-home order expiring today.
"There is no better time to open our doors and introduce Kansas City to Loews,” the statement said.
Loews Kansas City Hotel previously projected hiring 350 positions, including managers, banquet servers, front desk agents, bartenders and concierge staff.
