The Kansas chapter of the American Institute of Architects is shining a spotlight on design projects by Kansas City architecture firm Gould Evans. Gould Evans received four of seven top awards for its work across the country, including the Architecture Honor Award, the highest honor bestowed by the chapter. Gould Evans received the Excellence in Architecture Honor Award for its renovation and expansion of the Lawrence Public Library, an “inventive strategy for a building’s addition has completely transformed the community’s library into a place of social gathering and a re-imagined space of learning.”
Gould Evans also took home the Excellence in Interior Architecture Citation Award for its work on Hunt Residential Lofts in Kansas City, Mo., as well as the Excellence in Architecture Citation Awards for its design for Yulman Stadium at Tulane University in New Orleans and the NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science in La Jolla, Calif.
