Rose Design Build has broken ground on GemTech’s soon-to-be new 41,250 SF manufacturing facility located on six acres of land in the growing industrial area just east of 169 Highway at 183rd St. in Spring Hill, Kan.
The new facility will nearly double the size of its current one of 25,000 SF in Olathe, Kan.
Approximately 30 attendees were present at the groundbreaking ceremony held on April 30, 2022, which began with comments by GemTech founder and CEO, Dan Carpenter.
“With 65 employees currently, in the next 3 to 5 years we expect to expand our staff significantly. We’re on six acres of land, and the remaining land will allow for a future Phase 2 expansion of up to an additional 45,000 square feet,” said Carpenter.
In addition to many GemTech employees, community leaders in attendance included Diana Roth, Brian Peel and Chad Young from the Spring Hill City Council, and Sharon Mitchell from the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from Rose Design Build included president, Morgan Rose, and project superintendent, Marc Farris.
“Rose Design Build’s team of architects has proposed a bold take on what a modern manufacturing facility could look like. By combining everyday building materials with bold colors and some unique angles, the team has delivered GemTech a design that respects the client’s budget and provides an engaging experience of the built environment,” said Tyler Hiatt, Rose Design Build vice president of design and project architect.
