Kessinger Hunter’s Dan Jensen has closed a significant deal that will expand I-35 Logistics Park. Jensen represented Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in its purchase of 135 acres of land at the corner of 159th Street and Old 56 Highway in Olathe, Kan. Sun Life intends to expand I-35 Logistics Park park to 4.7 million square feet of Class A distribution space across more than 330 acres of land.

S&S Activewear’s recent 473,000-sqaure-foot lease prompted the consideration of additional development. Jensen led the development of that facility, which at the time of its August 2013 completion was the largest industrial building constructed on speculative basis in the Kansas City area.

“The acquisition of the additional acreage brings the front door of I-35 Logistics Park to 159th and Old Highway 56,” Jensen said.

Lath Backstrom represented the seller.
